These rules are here to guide our content creation, these are the brand’s values. 

  1. Consent – we will conduct interviews and business in an honest, and ethical way, this extends to making clear what is on or off the record, and obtaining tips, documents and comments in a fair and consensual way. 
  1. Accuracy – We will tell the truth, and nothing but the truth, we will be tireless and fearless in the pursuit of discovering, verifying and presenting the truth. 
  1. Fairness – when dealing with controversial matters, we will always allow a right of reply, and correct the record on any inaccuracies. 
  1. Privacy – we will do everything within our power to protect source confidentiality. 
  1. Transparency – we will always make clear and disclose conflicts of interest, partnerships, sponsorships or commercial/paid interests or conflicts. 
  1. Independence – we will never allow monetary offers to interfere with outcomes of reporting or reviews. – you can’t buy our praise, it ain’t for sale. 
  1. Harm Minimisation – Editorial will consider the impacts and benefits to individuals or the community at large when publishing. – for example, we may refrain from explicitly detailing a software vulnerability which hasn’t been patched.
